Realizing that it would not shut down, I unplugged it, and let the battery run down.So the machine sat for about 2 hours. I also noticed that on the newer panels (the one I bought on Ebay) Dell has seemed to address the problem with having a better constructed peg-housing and a spring. the most successful so far is a normal windows restore which takes the computer back a few days, I would recommend a week to 2 weeks if available.
