I was suffering from the black screen with cursor problem and nothing else had worked! For those wanting to wipe your hard drive for security reasons it also has DBaN and you can overwrite your hard drive to Dept. Do you have any advice? Any recommendations? I want to know that if i install another OS, will i be able to use the "Factory Default" option to recover it to original. ? It does not move past that screen no matter how long I wait and the only way to get rid of it is to turn the computer off. It's also very plausible that computer manufacturer's like Dell merely neglect to mention the manufacturer's warranties that cover the individual parts of a PC they're selling because of the obvious conflict
